Why This Course Exists

Most people who want to enter the laundry and dry-cleaning business learn the hard way — by buying machines first and figuring out the rest through trial and error, often losing lakhs of rupees to wrong equipment, wrong chemicals or a workflow that never scales. GILM built this 5-day practical training to close that gap: instead of watching a video course, you spend five full days at our Delhi training centre actually operating dry-cleaning machines, washing systems, pressing equipment and finishing stations, on real garments, under the guidance of trainers who run the laundry business every day.

By the end of the training, you will be able to confidently understand and perform the core operational processes of a professional laundry and dry-cleaning business — from receiving a garment at the counter to handing it back spotless, pressed and packed.

Who This Course Is For

Future Laundry Business Owners

Planning to open a laundry or dry-cleaning store and want to understand the actual operations before you invest.

Students Seeking Practical Exposure

You learn better by doing than by watching videos — this training is built entirely around hands-on practice.

People Who Learn Better Through Hands-On Training

No prior classroom or theory-only course substitutes for working on real machines with real garments.

Those Looking to Build Technical Confidence

Existing store owners or staff who want to move from guesswork to a structured, professional understanding of the trade.

What You'll Learn — Day by Day, Module by Module

8 hands-on modules covering everything from machine operation to store-ready finishing.

01

Business & Industry Fundamentals

Understand how a professional laundry and dry-cleaning business actually operates — the workflow from garment pickup to delivery, industry terminology, and the difference between a home-style setup and a professional operation.

02

Machines & Equipment

Get hands-on with dry-cleaning machines, washing machines, hydro extractors, pressing and finishing equipment. Learn how to choose the right machine for your budget and volume, and how each one is operated day-to-day.

03

Chemicals & Fabric Care

Learn to identify fabric types, read care labels correctly, and select the right chemicals and detergents for each fabric so garments come out clean without damage — one of the most common mistakes new laundry owners make.

04

Store Operations

Cover the systems that keep a laundry store running smoothly: garment receiving, tagging, order tracking, billing and customer handling — the operational backbone most laundry businesses get wrong when they start.

05

Stain Removal & Spotting

Practice identifying different stain types — oil, ink, food, blood and more — and apply the correct professional spotting techniques to remove them without damaging the fabric.

06

Special Cleaning Services

Learn to handle high-margin specialty items that most laundries turn away: shoes, helmets, bags, curtains, carpets and delicate garments — services that meaningfully add to your revenue per customer.

07

Washing & Wet Cleaning

Understand professional washing processes and wet-cleaning systems as a safer alternative to dry cleaning for certain fabrics, including water temperature, cycle selection and load management.

08

Pressing, Finishing & Packing

Finish the process the way customers judge it — crisp pressing, correct folding or hanging, quality checks before dispatch, and packing standards that make your store look professional.
